Colleen is experienced in teaching in both group and private settings. From her studies and years of experience, she has developed her own holistic style of teaching wherein each student is unique and no one method is the answer. For beginners, Colleen favors the step-by-step approach she finds in both Frances Clark (The Music Tree) and Randall and Jane Faber (Piano Adventures). She maintained a successful piano studio in Birmingham, AL for over 20 years. After establishing herself as a piano teacher, Colleen was inspired to study the "Taubman Approach" which guides students to play with more ease and confidence. It is her mission to plant and cultivate the musical ability within all students to form a complete musician. Colleen grew up in the Philippines. In 2013 she was able to travel back and share her passion for piano study. Colleen most recently taught both general music classes and piano classes at the Straz Performing Arts Center in Tampa, FL.
